Configuration Guide

If you have already finished installing and activating MCAStar, and you have already read Sticker Dance Quickstart, you can start here and read more detailed configuration guidance by module.

Suggested reading order

During your first setup, we recommend trying every part in this guide at least once.

If you only need to confirm the meaning of one option temporarily, you can also jump directly to the corresponding page.

Presets

The Sticker Dance Quickstart already explains how to build the most basic preset. Here are some additional suggestions that are more suitable for formal livestream operation:

  • Use one dedicated preset for each livestream segment. Do not switch modes back and forth repeatedly inside the same preset, because it is easy to miss settings.
  • It is better to name presets directly after the segment, for example: Opening, Round 1 PK, Penalty, Settlement. That reduces misunderstandings later between creators, the MC, operations staff, and data reporting.
  • If you need multiple versions of the same gameplay, include the purpose directly in the name, for example: Sticker Dance - Main, Sticker Dance - Backup.
  • After switching to a new mode, recheck that mode's own gift, display, and widget settings before you start it.

Cast Setting and Member List

The Sticker Dance Quickstart already explains how to add cast members and place them into the current preset. Here are some extra suggestions for building multiple presets:

  • Apply to All is useful when you want to quickly copy the current preset's cast lineup to other presets. But it only copies member configuration, not gameplay parameters. In practice, this is mainly used before going live, when you need to adjust every preset's Cast Setting based on who is actually present that day.
  • If you choose a member from Member List who is already assigned to another slot in the current preset, the system moves that member to the new slot instead of creating a duplicate. You can use this to adjust the cast order inside Cast Setting.
  • In short, stabilize Member List before going live, and only then build the presets for each gameplay mode. That makes later work much easier.

Gameplay Modes

Different modes focus on different things. It is usually better to decide the mode based on the livestream segment first, then open the corresponding page for detailed options.

  • Sticker Dance Includes two sub-modes, Normal mode and Vote Recording Mode. It is suitable for member showcase. Normal mode is the most basic gift-based gameplay, while Vote Recording Mode can also support entry-level competitive play when combined with richer settings.
  • Dual Dance Creators take turns facing each other in one-on-one battles. You can keep it as simple attack-and-defense rotation, or add stronger rhythm with settings such as revival and overtime.
  • Freedom This mode works well for fundraising gameplay with relatively simple rules and a freer rhythm. In recent updates, we introduced a Freedom Mode sub-mode under Solo Stage as an upgraded version. But because some MCNs are already used to this original Freedom mode, we kept it.
  • Solo Stage Includes two sub-modes, Freedom Mode and Stage Mode. The Freedom Mode sub-mode is the upgraded version of the original Freedom mode. It is suitable for single-creator gameplay with clearer stages and stronger climax moments.
  • Multi PK This mode combines the strengths of Sticker Dance and Dual Dance, allowing 3 to 5 people to participate in one multiplayer confrontation at the same time. Compared with Sticker Dance, the widget presentation emphasizes the competitive feeling more strongly.
